Help CenterAMIGOS strongly recommends that each volunteer purchase travel insurance. Each family is responsible for ensuring they have purchased a policy with coverage that meets their needs. While there are many travel insurance providers to choose from, AMIGOS has partnered with MDM Group to offer a Program Protection Plan which can insure:
- Program Fee Payments
- Airfare Cost
- Out-of-pocket expenses related to travel delays or baggage delays
- Coverage for evacuation in the case of a medical emergency
This coverage includes cancellation for last-minute personal or medical issues, including COVID-19. It also allows for partial reimbursement of expenses should a volunteer contract COVID-19 on their project and need to spend a period of time in isolation.
The Program Protection Plan is offered at a rate of 6.5% of the total amount you would like to insure.
Purchasing the Program Protection Plan through MDM Group is optional.
