While Amigos coordinates the purchase of airfare on your behalf, the cost of the ticket is separate from the program fee and is an additional expense that families are responsible for. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about how these payments work and what to expect during the process.

Administrative fee
At AMIGOS, we charge a $200 Administrative Fee to help cover the operational costs of planning and managing participant travel. Coordinating international group travel requires extensive behind the scenes work, and this fee ensures we can provide a safe, and fully supported travel experience for every participant.
Please note that your Program Fee does not include flight costs or the Administrative Fee.
This additional fee covers a wide range of essential services, including:

Domestic and international flight booking

Airport support from AMIGOS staff in gateway airports

Travel assistance through our 24/7 Travel Hotline: Our team works directly with the airline company to manage any flight changes, including rebooking in the event of delays or cancellations.

Hotel accommodations in gateway cities in case of flight delays or cancellations
Billing
Airfare purchases will begin in mid-March by the AMIGOS Travel Team. From that point, billing statements will be sent on a rolling basis, so families can expect to receive the Airfare Billing Statement no later than one month before their volunteer's project start date. We ask that all airfare payments be made within one week of receiving the billing statement.

We have included flight cost estimates below (includes the Administrative Fee). The flight cost estimates are based on actual flight costs from the previous year. These averages are calculated nationwide, so departures from many different airports are taken into account. The estimates below are averages and the actual cost of your volunteer’s flight may vary.
